MultiCultural Review
is a quarterly trade journal and book review for educators and librarians at all levels. In addition to regular columns, feature articles, announcements, and news, MultiCultural Review contains 120-150 reviews of new English-language or bilingual books and non-print materials in the Reviews section of each issue. New editions, reissues of out-of-print titles, series books, and new editions in other media (such as audiobooks) are reviewed in the “Editor’s Shelf” column. Textbooks, curriculum guides, and other instructional materials are reviewed in the “Chalkboard” column. New multicultural serial publications and multicultural special issues of existing serials are reviewed in the “Continuing Diversity” column.

Submissions Guidelines:
Both new books for review and titles for “Editors Shelf,” “Chalkboard,” and “Continuing Diversity should be sent to Lyn Miller-Lachmann, MultiCultural Review, 194 Lenox Ave., Albany, NY 12208 as soon as they are available. Materials submitted should address some aspect of cultural diversity in the United States and Canada, though titles that present comparative perspectives, address conflicts of global importance, or focus on the roots of American ethnic, racial, or religious groups are also welcomed. Priority subject areas are the following: books for young readers, literary and mainstream trade fiction and nonfiction for general adult readers, books that can be utilized in introductory college and university classes, and diversity reference sources for general readers and for business and industry. Although we do review more scholarly materials in subject areas such as education and political/social sciences, these are a lower priority. We do not review cookbooks, dictionaries, how-to books, or mass-market fiction.

While we do not require advance galleys and we review books after their publication date, we cannot review books that we receive in the calendar year following their publication (although the review may be published in the following calendar year). We appreciate receiving finished books for all titles initially sent in galley form. We regret that we cannot return any materials sent for review.
